Islands of the Split archipelago include Ciovo (Čiovo), Hvar, Brac (Brač), Solta (Šolta), Vis and smaller islands Bisevo (Biševo), Scedro (Šćedro), Zecevo (Zečevo) and Pakleni otoci.

The island of Brac (Brač) is an island of a white stone, known for its magnificent beaches, belvederes, white houses and one of the most beautiful beaches on the Mediterranean - Zlatni Rat. Local people say that there is no place in the world where such a divine mistral blows. The wind changes the shape of the beach, depending on the waves and winds direction. The most important cultural monument of the island is Desert Blaca, the monastery that was built by Croatian Glagolitic monks in the 15th century. It rises from the stone and with the old astronomical observatory and a museum collection reveals a mystical experience for all visitors.

The island of Hvar has been always known for its seductive charisma. The remains, a proof that life has been developed here 6 000 years ago, were found in cave Grapcevo (Grapčevo). One of the oldest theaters in Europe, then the Arsenal and St. Stephen's Cathedral are located in the center of old Hvar. From the old city a beautiful view spreads over the powerful fortress Španjol and its walls. A special place on the island has the monastery of Benedictine nuns who produce lace of agave fibers. History left its mark in every place and every building on the island. Fortresses, monasteries, bridges, churches, squares, villas and palaces all lay there... Initially it was conquered by Greeks who built the city of Pharos and created exclusive agrar culture and area partition which were retained till today as one of three in the world. Stari Grad or Pharos is the oldest town in Croatia, surrounded by forests, olive groves and wine grapes. You will discover the fortified Renaissance castle Tvrdalj that within its walls hides a pond and a park, a heritage of one of the most important poets of that time Petar Hektorović.

Pakleni Otoci is a group of beautiful islands that make a unique significant landscape. Their green beauty and picturesque seabed represent a real challenge for divers, sailers and all nature lovers. Beside beaches, sea and the sun, Hvar conquers with its fragrant fields of lavender and endless long drystone walls.

Sailing toward the open sea we come to the island of Vis. In the 4th century BC, together with Pharos, Vis was the most important city in Dalmatia and the important Greek colony known as Issa. From the era of Greek conquerors, the most famous symbol and the item from Issa was a bronze head of goddess Artemis. Issa was a very important strategic point on the Mediterranean, which is proven by one of the largest maritime battles between the Habsburgs and the Italian navy in the late 19th century. Under the rule of Josip Broz Tito, Vis was the centre of army troops and military operations. Bunkers, catacombs and hospitals, together with war ships passages inside the island prove the strategic importance of the island. After many years of isolation, life began to develop with fishing, tourism and viticulture and thus Vis became one of the leading tourist destinations.

The islet of Bisevo (Biševo) is located in Vis archipelago, outstanding in the open blue sea and hiding a unique natural beauty. Caves Modra (Blue) and Medvidina are nature monuments with the geomorphologic characteristics. The Modra cave is a unique natural phenomenon that, thanks to the game of lights, emits a strong blue colour even outside the cave. Medvidina cave is former habitat of a Mediterranean monk seal - the most endangered mammal of the Adriatic Sea. Interior of the island is covered with wine grapes, while the north side is overgrown with dense green underbush and pine trees. Seabed of the island and the whole Vis archipelago are rich in fish, gaudy flora and fauna as well as the sunken ships.
