Zagreb is both old and young city. During the history Zagreb was home of two cities, Kaptol and Gradec. Through museums, monuments and streets, its nine centuries long history is still living to its full.
Zagreb is an old Central European city. For centuries it has been developing as a rich cultural and scientific, as well as strong commercial and economic centre. It is situated at the crossroads of major roads between the Adriatic coast and Central Europe. Zagreb is business and university centre, a city of culture, art and entertainment. Many famous scientists, artists and athletes originate from here.
Zagreb's most important cultural institutions and many hotels are located in its centre; in the pedestrian zone that is, from time to time, probably the largest European café in the open. There are also other attractions to see - a vivid outdoor market, one of the last in Europe, a true experience for all those who come to Zagreb. Here you will sense some of the forgotten scents and flavors of your childhood and enjoy the colorful scenes of the market itself.
Zagreb is a city of a typical charm and hospitable, genuine people.
