Gastronomy is a very important feature along the coast and in the mountains creating curious diversities, but also many similarities in both cuisines. Manual production of cheese on the island of Krk is the indigenous product, which represents the fragrances and aroma, taste and appearance of its origin. Smoked ham (prosciutto), salted sardines, figs, olive oil and wine, form a history and the present of the culture and faith of the local people who produce these delicacies with love.
Mediterranean cuisine overwhelmingly reminds you of laurel, rosemary, many other spices, olives and cheeses, greeneries and fish. Although the mountain cuisine is stronger and richer, it applies similar culinary methods in making the traditional dishes and desserts.
