Motovun woods, visit the fair of truffles and culinary festival, enter a competition in finding the white truffles. Visit the town of Vodnjan where you can pick olives every end of November and enjoy the 'Days of young olive oil'. Learn how the Istrian indigenous product of smoked ham is prepared, with a specific aroma, drying only in the north wind, bura. In the Parish Church of St. Blaise in Vodnjan mummified bodies of saints are kept and a collection of reliquaries.
With spring birds and butterflies come, plants awake, flowers open their buds. Forest becomes tamer and the coast warmer. Summer brings long and warm days. Explore the beaches from the early morning, the hidden and hardly accessible ones as well as those more gentle, under the pine trees, covered with stone pebbles. Take a diving course and dive into another world, picture fish, shells, rocks of strange shapes, plants, plunge into greater depths and explore the shipwrecks.
For the lovers of active holidays, Istria offers a wide range of interesting sports such as beach volleyball, tennis, speeding carting track, sailing, wind surfing, water skiing and paragliding on Cicarija (Ćićarija).
Have fun horseback riding on horse riding trails, in recreational drive or pedaling through one of 60 cycling trails. Visit hiking trails in the vicinity of Gracisce (Gračišće), Pazin and Beram.
Spend your early evenings in the romantic walks by the sea, listen to the local bands (klape), enjoy the summer performances, concerts, exhibitions and folk festivals. Try the fresh fish from the grill and wine, and for dessert try the traditional fritula that melts in your mouth.
