In Makarska, you will enjoy a Mediterranean climate. Winters are very mild and sunny, and summers are long and warm with a refreshing mistral, wind that unobtrusively brings natural refreshment from the open sea. Other winds are bora (northern) which brings cold, and jugo (southern), warm wind from the sea which brings moisture, and it is extremely popular among the water sports such as sailing, surfing and kiting. Air temperature from June till September is higher than 20°C. Sea temperature in summer period goes between 25°C and 27°C.
Unlike Biokovo slopes, the snow is extremely rare phenomenon on the coast. It is interesting to mention that in May, sometimes, it is possible to enjoy the snow on the peaks of Biokovo and swim in the quite warm sea on the same day.
