Autumn brings harmony of fragrances, colours and flavors of the authentic Mediterranean. Go to Zagora and visit the Modro (Blue) and Crveno (Red) Lake, the canyon of River Cetina, where you can try rafting. Visit lake Peručko, Prološko Blato, go horseback riding, hiking, biking or running.
Recreate on the cycle tracks, walks by the sea, on the mountain Marjan, go fishing, or taste wines on the wine roads in Imotski, Prolosac (Prološac), Makarska and Vrgorac. Viticulture together with olive growing and fishing has always been destiny of population of middle Dalmatia. This was their occupation from the old Greeks’ time. Go to the colorful islands, where cultivation of olives, figs, almonds and wines is much more picturesque and richer. Walk on roads on which Greeks and Romans walked through golden paths of grapes, visit wine roads on the island of Hvar, Brac (Brač) and Vis, and the olive tree in the Kastel Stafilic (Kaštel Štafilić) over 1500 years old.
Winter in Split region is peaceful, but also full of social and cultural changes. Visit museums in Split, especially the archeological Museum founded in 1820., exhibitions and cultural performances, museum on the island of Hvar, or visit one of many agritourisms in Dalmatinska Zagora, where you will enjoy the fresh mountain air, the original cuisine and homemade desserts, untouched nature and fortress remains.
For romantics and peace lovers, islands of the archipelago offer exactly what one is looking for. You can experience a personal revival taking a walk by the sea, under the pine trees and with hot vegetable soup or mushroom thick soup (manistra).

Enjoy walking, biking or running by the sea, visit all cultural and historical heritage of Split, Trogir, Solin, islands of Hvar, Brac (Brač) and Vis. While you are on the island of Vis, try the original Vis cake (Viška pogača) and domestic wine, capers and samphire plant. Samphire plant is a wild plant that grows in the rocks along the Adriatic coast. It has an intense aroma, pulpy leaves and strong flavor. It is good for sauces, salads, and risotto and egg frittata/omelet. Go by the sea, river or in the woods to pick aromatic plants and herbs, fruit such as asparagus, samphire, blueberry or jujube that is used for various brandies, wines, liqueurs, medicinal syrups, teas.
Visit the Botanic Garden in Kastel Luksic (Kaštel Lukšić), a garden with numerous autochthonous and exotic species, mountain and park forest Marjan, and an oak tree which is more than 300 years old in Donja Brela and many other natural beauties.
Summer brings hot, sunny and dry days. The sea is perfect, so go to the island of Vis and dive into the blue depths, explore sunken ships and beautiful nature or go fishing. Sail into the open sea or find peace in one of the thousands hidden beaches and coves… Enjoy summer activities and water sports in Split, go to Cetina River on a canoe safari, kayaking, the adrenaline break through the canyons and roads, get to know the roads through which man has not passed yet, experience paintball, horseback riding or parachuting.
Tourist tradition dates back to 1894, a year when the first detailed guide of the city and surrounding area was published, and when the nearby villages, islands and places started to grow and develop touristically.

Evenings are gentle and refreshed by mistral, therefore visit the historic town core, discover the true life of local people, enjoy many summer festivals, events and concerts, relax with fish evenings offer including grilled fish, domestic wines of the islands Vis or Hvar, traditional dessert - caramel pudding (rožata) or Dalmatian krostula.
Go to Sinj and visit their cultural heritage, forts, churches and attend Alka, traditional competition of Alkars, where young men wear the national Alkar costumes. Riding horses in full race they have to hit the center of alka target with a spear. Taste their cuisine and specialties like domestic figs, almonds, smoked ham, cheese or lamb meat.
